Yeah! We got a good review!
Buddy movies are pretty common anymore. Actually, they’ve been around for a long, long time. So in order to have a really good buddy movie, you need a Laurel and you need a Hardy. The problem with “Wedding Crashers” is that you have 2 Laurels through some of the movie, and then you have 2 Hardy’s in the other half. Honestly, I couldn’t tell you which character is which, but this is the deal…”Wedding Crashers” is pretty entertaining at times…not so much at others.
First off you have Vince Vaughn in “Vince Vaughn mode”. And that is a very good mode to be in. VV is awesome at impromptu acting and the way his eyes get all crazy and bug out is hysterical! So I like VV in “Vince Vaughn mode” in this one…even if it is used only occasionally.
And then you have Owen Wilson. Owen Wilson is not really all that funny to me. The funniest thing about him might be his nose, but beyond that, I don’t really care one way or the other about him or his character in this film. He is just kinda there…and eventually he gets on my nerves.
All the female leads are good, especially Isla Fisher who almost steals the movie and Rachel McAdams is just hot. She could just stand there and I’d watch…so this was a good flick for her because her character is just so likeable and easy on the eyes.
Not a great comedy as some might make it out to be, but definately watchable and entertaining in spots (especially when Vaughn is doing his schtick).
